Christopher Caldwell is CEO of United Renewables, a leading Renewable Energy developer and Cleantech investor. Prior to founding United Renewables, Chris was an investment banker and a corporate lawyer.

Chris graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a Bachelor of Business Studies, read law at the College of Law in London and then trained as a solicitor with Amhurst Brown Colombotti (now Howard Kennedy). Following qualification he joined the corporate department of Binchys Solicitors (now Maples & Calder) where he specialised in corporate restructurings and corporate finance before choosing to pursue a career in Investment Banking in the City of London.

From 2004 – 2012, Chris worked in Corporate Finance developing new opportunities and providing financial advisory services across a range of industries that are tailored to meet client’s long term strategic objectives including Private Placings, Initial Public Offerings (Full List, AIM & ISE), Secondary Issues and numerous Merger and Acquisition transactions. In addition to the UK and Ireland Chris acted for a wide range of international companies. As a part of the transition into entrepreneurship Chris obtained an MBA from London Business School, where he was Student of the Year.

Using the experiences he obtained as a lawyer, investment professional and team leader, Chris acts as CEO of renewable energy companies within the United Renewables Group leading all aspects of the businesses including providing strategic direction, fundraising, supporting new initiatives and day to day management of operations.

Chris hosts the Conversions on Climate podcast/videocast series exploring the wide range of solutions to the global climate crisis through interviews with leading experts in their fields. The first series features in person interviews with some of the London Business School’s leading thinkers, researchers, builders and makers who are tackling the issue of climate change from a range of perspectives.
