Jon Dwoskin's THINK NOW Blog: Taking Personal Time for Yourself

Many people are struggling to carve out personal time while working from home. As everyone is adjusting to this new work/life situation, our daily schedules now consist of trying to balance work calls and meetings with kid-related items like homeschooling and figuring out engaging activities. Don’t forget meal planning and daily chores! In trying to manage everything at once, what often gets lost is personal time. We’re so busy adjusting and juggling that we forget our own personal self-care and the importance of it.

Most people feel as though they need permission before they can take personal time. So, I’m GIVING YOU PERMISSION right now to take some time for yourself.

I know it’s easier said than done, but there is a solution. In order for you to get your own time throughout the day, you’re going to have to schedule it. Your calendar is more important now than ever, so block off at minimum fifteen minutes of YOU time each day.

This may mean that you have to wake up fifteen minutes earlier, but at least you’ll be getting some time for yourself. The important thing is that your activity during this time is something you’re passionate about or have been wanting to do, but just didn’t have the time. Reading, journaling, meditating, exercising, other types of art—whatever the activity is—just make it your OWN!

Take care of yourself during these changing times. Do this for yourself, you won’t regret it. Do it today…for you!

Think NOW,
