Julie Silver, MSW, Dipl. Ac. has a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Wayne State University and is a Board Certified Acupuncturist (NCCAOM). She completed her Traditional Chinese Medicine education at Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. She is the founder of Michigan Associates of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine, Inc., a full service Integrative Medicine practice located in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Julie is the former Vice President of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAAOM) and is currently on the State Board of Acupuncture for the State of Michigan.
Over the past decade, Julie has had the pleasure of working with many different people, assisting them in taking a proactive approach to their health. She works closely with doctors to ensure that her patients are receiving a holistic approach to their health care.
As a Chinese Medicine practitioner, Julie uses a variety of TCM techniques in her practice. Acupuncture is the foundation of her practice. In addition, Julie works with her patients to make lifestyle changes that will improve their overall well-being. These include nutrition, exercise, herbs and vitamins and psycho spiritual changes. She also supplements acupuncture with Chinese massage (called tui na), guasha, cupping, electro acupuncture and moxabustion.
