Jon, Randall and Eric discuss health, well-being and preventative measures during the COVID-19 era.

Dr. Makhni is a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit Metro, MI and Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He is a team physician for the Detroit Lions and the head team physician for Oakland University Athletics. He is also the Director of Quality and Informatics for the Orthopedic Service Line of the Henry Ford Health System.

Dr. Makhni completed his undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before graduating from Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School with his dual MD/MBA degree. His orthopedic surgery residency was at Columbia University in New York City, and he completed a Shoulder, Elbow, and Sports Medicine Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Makhni’s research focus lies in treatment of shoulder and elbow injuries in overhead throwing athletes, as well as in the science of patient reported outcome measures.
