Read Jon’s Forbes Coaches Council Article, Why Following Up Is Key If You Want To Grow Your Business
Excerpt:
If you are like most business people, you may feel there are not enough hours in the day to accomplish everything you want or need to do. One thing I find over and over again among companies, CEOs, managers and salespeople I work with is that their business goes in the wrong direction and their time feels short when they don’t have a proper system of follow-up.
There is nothing worse than working with someone who doesn’t do what they say they are going to do when they say they are going to do it. If you overpromise and underdeliver, you chisel away quickly at your credibility, and your prospects and clients will not fully trust you. Sometimes they may tolerate these unfulfilled promised, but be warned you’re priming the pump to lose their business.
Your competitors are looking for open opportunities to swoop in and steal a client from you. By not following up or honoring your word, you’re cracking the door for them to burst through. It all boils down to value offered to the client; if they see your competitor offering them more value than you do, they will jump ship.
